Paris again....

Kev and I are members of the Advisory Committee of the Emmanuel Community, and so were invited to attend a meeting in Paris. As we had both been sick in the last weeks, we weren't sure if we would go or not, right up until the last minute. We decided that we would make it, but felt that we should email our hosts and let them know that we were coughing really really loudly during the nights, and perhaps it would be best if we stayed at a hotel.  When we landed in Paris, I checked me phone and there was a message from our hosts. Due to some miscommunication, our suggestion was accepted, so at 8:30pm we needed to find somewhere to stay. We went to the information booth at the airport and they found us a hotel near the airport. A fifteen minute ride in the shuttle bus had us at a hotel, and in bed by about 9:30pm.  Luckily our coughs weren't too bad.

The next morning we woke to find that Kev had lost his voice. We had a nice little breaky down in the dining room, then caught the bus back to the airport. From there we caught the metro to the Meeting. As we were chaning trains we saw someone that we know. This spun us out because the metro system is so huge, that the chances of bumping into someone are so small.

The meeting lasted for two days. It was very interesting. We heard about the process of voting for new members of the Council of the Community and the Moderator, which will take place in August. As members of the Advisory Committee, we will be able to vote.

We also had a meeting with the Moderator and the people in charge of the Youth of the Community, and the guy in charge of the European countries. It was good to be able to discuss our mission and to explain some of the difficulties. Then we prayed together. It was also good to hear words of thanks for the work that we are doing.

We came back to Rome on Sunday evening, feeling pretty tired but not as sick as we had been.
