Last weekend we went to Assisi with the ESM for the National Emmanuel Community Retreat. We caught the train on Friday afternoon and arrived with plenty of time to settle into our accommodation (next to the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels).
It was a lovely weekend, with lots of time to pray and to catch up with friends from Milan, Florence and Naples. There was also great food, and because we are in Italy, wine with every meal!
The retreat ended with lunch on Sunday. Then we had to bolt to the station to catch our train back to Rome.
