Last week we went to Scotland to start preparing for some missions for next year. When we were booking the flights, we realised that it was much cheaper for us to go two days earlier, which allowed us to spend the weekend in Edinburgh.
We stayed with the uncle of our friend Philip. His family were so welcoming to us. Philip gave us a tour of the surrounding area, with a full history included!

We also managed to spend some time in the city of Edinburgh and to eat pub food. We were so excited to have a pie and chips! We enjoyed strolling up and down the Royal Mile, with the Castle at one end and Holyrood Palace at the other. (The Pope will meet with the Queen there in September).

One evening we caught up with Fr Peter Comensoli who is studying in Edinburgh at the moment. He is the priest who married us all those years ago. He took us out for dinner and showed us the sites of the city. It is strange because it is still light after 10pm, so many times we were up later than we planned to be.

On Monday we headed up to Dundee along the coastal road. It was so pretty. We stopped at St Andrews and went for a wee walk. Here are the remains of one of the many Catholic churches that was destroyed during the Protestant reformation.

We arrived in Dundee on Monday eveining were we met with the Bishop to discuss missions. The following day we met with all the diocesan priests of the city. We also managed to catch up with some of our Emmanuel friends while there.
On Wednesday morning we left Dundee at 4am to make it to the airport in time for our 6:30am flight. Once in Rome it took us about two and a half hours to get home. We were welcomed by the stifling heat and humidity!
Youse guys are jet setters extraordinaire! I love it! What a life! Guildford West is really exciting too - we had a car torched in our street the other night and at the shops we saw several old ladies holding up the queue...Loving your stories.
